New build upstairs and need to add a socket like the picture. She won't let me pull the skirting out to do it.. (I know out of zone) but I wouldn't be able to fish around that corner would I? Nothing the otherside so can't piggy back

TIA

Tell her the only other option is to horizontally chase into the wall :)

I thought that... and thought it was a stupid question to post.. but I'd be buggered fishing unless I went in the loft I suppose

Seriously though, what direction does the cable run from the existing socket and is the floor suspended? If so you could run a cable down behind the skirting board across and up under the other socket. It's not difficult to do that with a suitable masonry drill without having to pull the skirting board out.
Comes down to it.. and it's a new build so chipwood floorboard

So screwed down and liftable? If so that should be fairly straight forward.
Depending on where the cables run you could either put the new socket on the ring or just spur off that nearby one, assuming that is itself not a spur of course.

Give her the 4 options:

1) Allow you to lift the floorboards and chase down from the sockets
2) Allow you to chase horizontally round the wall
3) Have surface mounted cable (in white channelling)
4) Don't have another socket.

There is a fifth option, but it may not be suitable

The distance between the existing and proposed sockets Is not great.

Could a socket next to the existing one suffice?
