Bathroom Downlights 12v or 240v?

Hi.

Having recently moved into a property, i am making my way round changing lights to LED. I have now done all but the bathroom downstairs which operates on 3x halogen downlighters with 12v transformers. I tried swapping them out for LED but they flicker.

Anyway, easiest option would be to whip them out, whip off the transformers and just put new LED downlighters in at 240v. Question is, am i allowed?

The ceiling height is only 2.1m. One of the lights is directly over the shower at 2.1m above the tray and 20mm above the cubicle. I think this makes it zone 2 as its not in the cubicle, but possibly zone 1 as its less than 2.25m from the floor?

Do they need to be 12v?

Forgot to add, the circuits were added and notified in 2007 and are on a RCCB

No requirement for those lights to be 12V.
Fit the 230V ones.

Seems to me all the electrical wiring will be outside the room, so not in a zone.

All in the ceiling void. It's a cold flat roof with celotex if that makes a difference (yeah I know it probably shouldn't have downlights in a cold roof but I didn't do it)
