electric sofa recline not working

Hi guys i wonder if anyone can give me some helpful advice
i have just picked up a 3 seater sofa with 2 inbuilt electric motors , each motor has a plug in 24v transformer lead

one of the leads powers both sides but the other lead will not power either side

i have check for power coming from the transformer with a meter and there is power i have also checked the lead from the transformer to the jack for continuity which there is in both of the 2 cores...

so im at abit of a loss on what could be wrong

what type of "leads" and what do they connect between? photo will help a lot

Here is some pics ive got the lenght of cable out the middle to rule that out for sure

have you checked continuity between the Low Voltage plug and the ends of the cut lead.? If there is a break it's much more likely to be where the lead enters the plug than at some point in between.

Indications are that there is only one transformer (as supplied) - "i have check for power coming from the transformer"

If "one of the leads powers both sides" - what is the problem?

Is the sofa "used"?
It may be that there were originally two transformers, with one powering each side, but the sofa may have been rewired so that only one transformer is now required !

I suggest that you look underneath the sofa to see how things have been (re)wired. (Tipping the sofa upside down will probably be required.)

Why ( who ) cut the lead to the ELV plug ?

Mains 230 V is LV Low Voltage ELV = Extra Low Voltage
