Jacob Rees-Mogg

Me neither. I also think he is a bell end, but I do believe he was unaware of the yellow peril connotations.
I'd be surprised if he was.

But given this, if accurate,

"The term has been used to describe the libs four times in Parliament,"

he probably thought the context was safe.

Maybe its a bit like the way things work here - terms/words/phrases are used without fallout for long periods of time and then at random one use gets singled out for censure.

not much younger than sxturbo, who claims never to have heard of it.

but I'm sure Jacob used to read boys' adventure books from Britain's imperial past.

"ooof! blam blam blam! take that, squarehead!"

who just happens to be one the lefties favourite punching bags, has been reprimanded for using a "racist term". He described the Lib dems as the "yellow peril". Is a term racist even if not attacking a race ? What next, being banged up for calling Man Utd the "red" devils ?

Don't judge by your own ignorance. The term has a lot of history you dimwit.

As to Rees Mogg use- he apologised immediately unreservedly so the matter should be considered closed.

However this means Rees Mogg if he doesn't know the terms racist use perhaps is not as erudite and learned as he makes himself out to be.

Rees Mogg is what a thick person thinks a smart person looks like.

Good old Wikipedia.

Wikipedia co-founder says site is now 'propaganda' for left-leaning 'establishment' (nypost.com)

FFS man 'yellow peril' was used as a term for the japs during the second world unpleasantness, probably again in the Korean unpleasantness. Much the same as we described Germans as 'gerries', 'The Hun' 'Kraut', 'square heads' 'box heads' (note the last two were references to the shape of their helmets (headgear I hasten to add)).
These are simply nicknames for who were at the time 'enemies'. I for one don't hold a grudge against the Gerries, even though the bastards bombed me mums house in Battersea.

OK, let's not be racist.

Let's just refer to the Chinese as the ******g enemy.
Let's just refer to the Germans as the ******g enemy.
Nothing racist about that, but probably even more unpleasant.

Stope listening to any who may or may not have been banned, stop trying to infer racism into every post, it's silly, I thought you were bigger and better than that, maybe I was wrong.

Context has to come into it , dum dum. An Irish ex rugby player got the boot for describing an England player as having an Oompa Loompa tan. Fair enough, as the player is of mixed race. But what if someone used the same term to describe a white person who has over done the Ambre solaire, such as Dale Winton or Judith Chalmers , is that racist ? Or me describing a dark coloured Audi car as a piece of black sh!t , racist ?

So you bring forward the argument about context only to argue against yourself. Call the car a black **** - it's not a person - lol.

Always owning yourself at every turn.

You seem to have failed the read what I wrote.

Poor filly another foot in mouth for you again.

Sanger has been complaining about Wikipedia as he has a rival product Citizenpedia so he isn't speaking from an unbiased place. He has been complaining about Wikipedia since he brought his new product to the market - strange that.

Re - read what I wrote - RM apologised and the matter is closed. The bigger point is RM perhaps is not as erudite as he makes out. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
