Morning,

i live in a bungalow and a bit of paint has come off / flaked off at the bottom of the OUTSIDE wall. It's only like 2mm depth, but because i am painting the whole wall i want to ensure that it's all level.

What products are best to do this? Do i need to PVA before using render or use something similar?

Do i just use standard 4:1 sand:cement ratio?

No render has come off with it, just the top layer of paint

Cheers

Hi There, I'm just a DIYer but for external shallow fills like this I've scraped back any flakiness and then used a bit of Zinsser Peelstop around the edges of the paint to stop further peel. I've then used either Touprette Touprelith or Murex (a loose mix) external fillers and a continental filling blade to fill level with the paint. If using Murex, I l blend a bit with a sponge for texture - it's really difficult to sand when dry, Touprelith is easy to sand back if you've overfilled. I've then painted straight over. No problems a year on. Hope this helps!
