Heated/Lighted Bathroom Mirror - Shaver Transformer Buzzing

The problem will be if you want to charge a shaver you will have to spend 8 hours waving at the IR switch

Maybe not

Some of these illuminated mirrors turn the lights ON with the first "wave" over the sensor and then OFF with the next "wave".

As for the transformer . Buzzing suggests a loose lamination in the core is vibrating. Possible a defect at manufacture. A cure is to "boil" the transformer in hot wax to "glue" the loose lamination(s) together and thus prevent the vibration.

Or buy a good quality replacement

Wouldn't the light stay on forever until the IR switch is activated again then?
They don't work like that. A few minutes after activation the light will go off. Ever sat on the 'throne' in a bathroom with an IR sensor?

But even if it did stay on you wouldn't want the light on for 8 hours or so while the shaver is charging.

My shaver point is marked shavers only and it's been charging my toothbrush 24x7 for 20+years, barely gets warm. So it rather depends on the particular unit.

Exactly. I've never found one that overheats charging a toothbrush.

Ah. I thought the mirror lights would stay on until I wave my hand again.

Annoying, these lights where you have no control of them. If I want the light to stay on for 8 hours, it stays on for 8 hours. Gotta show these lights who's boss.

Seems all old hat now, we just say hay google turn on bathroom lights and they switch on. Well should do, in real life it either says I don't know how to do that yet, or some thing went wrong try again latter.

Or it turns them off when you only asked it to turn off music.

I have given up with automated systems, with PIR turning off lights when I am still outside, keeping a torch in the car works better, or charging shaver in bedroom. But I don't use my shaver much Me-and-helper2.jpg.
