Hello. I've gone in big this year with pots. About 30 (big for me anyway). How do I remember what's in them next year? I don't want labels in the pots by the way.
Greetings

Thank you for replying so promptly. I would want it to be very small and I shall use a fine felt tip pen. My wife says I should
brush it with nail varnish to stop it dissapearing. Any other ideas welcome.

Keep well old salt.

The Stabilo "write 4 all" pen works on glass, metal and plastic and is permanent.

Sometimes branded "Swan" depending on country.

I often use white vinyl electricians tape as label, and write n it with the Stabilo. Mostly I use the "medium" tip but there is also a fine.

The fine will even enable you to write on the insulation of individual cable cores.

Handy for switches, circuits, filing folders, dates on oil and air filters, jars of brush cleaner, pipe identification.

I happened to be in a theatre and saw a label on a lighting control that I had labelled at least 20 years earlier.

I know you don't want labels in the pots. But, what about prettier ones?

Wife got these slate jobbies as a gift and uses a chalk pen. Appears to last even rotten weather

Failing that, take some photos and annotate them?

Forget all that lots.

Number the pots.
Keep a list of what's in what numbered pots.

That way you are not needing to change the info on the pots when you change the contents AND can be nice and techy and keep the list in a spreadsheet, videntify what grew well and what did not etc. Also on your phone, you can email it to gardeners question time for advice or something.
Make bar charts and pie charts, grow lists et all.

:)

Take a photo
print out a copy
label them
Have a beer

OOOh good idea, drink lots of beer and then you will not care what's in them :)

They are in pots so movable, wait till they come out and move to where they look best.
For unobtrusive labels, cut, flatten ,engrave copper tube then bend and tuck it to inside profile of the pot rim.

Thank you so much everyone. I asked the question also hoping that others also pondered how to remember. I don't feel so
silly now.

All the best to all of you, remember Covid hasn't gone away.
