Lots of mould in utility room

Bought finally today a fan Greenwood Airvac CV2GIP with humidistat and timer for £60.
Electrician confirmed that it has a low energy consumption, 5 watts.

Why do you all say that a cooker hood should be connected to the outside. People don't cook with the utility door open to the kitchen or is it a general rule maybe that it is better for the kitchen ventilation?

Moist air in the kitchen, will spread to the utility and the rest of the house, even with doors closed - especially in the colder walled utility, it will condense out. Cooking, bathing and drying clothes are the major causes of air born moisture in homes.
