Quiet c/h pumps

Morning all

Can anybody recommend a very quiet/silent central heating pump if such a thing exists please?
I have a standard system with 7 radiators, vented cylinder, boiler in the kitchen.

The pump and all of the connected pipework in the airing cupboard is fitted to a plasterboard wall which is the other side of my bedroom, and I am fed up with the humming/droning every time the hot water fires up in the night or the heating is on. The grundfos pump I have (15/60 I think....) isn`t faulty, it`s just doing it`s job but there is nothing to stop the noise transmitting through the paper thin wall into my bedroom.

Or, can it be removed from where it is and be put under the floor, or in the loft maybe??

What speed is it set to? With only 7 rads it should be OK at minimum. If it's not already, turning it down will be quieter.

It`s set to 2 at the moment. It will work down on number 1 - the hot water side is fine on that but it`s not enough for the heating, the rads at the front of the house which are the furthest away from the boiler struggle to get hot enough, so I have to use a minimum of setting 2.

OK but surprised. Have you tried balancing the system on speed 1?

I haven`t to be fair, but the system/radiators are now all nearly 50 years old, I`m a bit scared of trying to turn the valves after all this time......

They might be OK, things were made properly those days! But if you try and they won't move (with reasonable force) you haven't lost anything.
 
The boiler may have required a bypass and a minimum flowrate hence the higher speed required.
What's the boiler make and model...you may be able to use a modern pump and set it to a proportional mode.

The boiler is a Viessmann 100W - only 4 months old. That sounds an interesting idea if it`s something that`s possible
 
Hi, Pricey but good, I installed this one last year to replace an old noisy one. Virtually silent, sometimes worries me as I can't hear it start up!

Is there any way you could modify the pump/pipe mounting to incorporate vibration-damping mounts?
