Shower cubical Tile repair

A tile has come off in the shower cubicle on a new build, tiler is coming with a new tile to repair but I'm concerned the board behind is damaged and water will eventually get behind the tile again.

Does the board need repairing first for a proper job?

Not sure what you mean, do you mean the plaster board?

BS 5385 now recommends a tanking or other waterproofing system even in residential wet areas.

Considering they grouted over a spacer aswell as whatever caused this tile failure I would not be confident in the rest of the work.
