Hi

Putting flat roof on a conservatory

As title which would be best for capping thermalite blocks to allow flat EPDM roof & plastic lantern?

Also beam direction, is it ok to run beams parallel with the existing property as apposed to 90 degrees?

Cheers

Timber is fine.

You need to run 2 beams - say doubled up joists for the lantern - think about their length and where they land - you want to avoid being above French doors or window frame.

What size timber is used for capping?

Span is 3.8m internal block to block was gonna use 47x170 c24 beams and double up around lantern, the reason I was asking if the beams are ok running parallel with the original house wall is I have a 3m door so the beams would not be supported. If I run them parallel one wall is solid thermalites the other has a window but is within the size of the lantern so beams will be sitting on solid wall Pilar
