I have two strimmers. One uses a cog-shaped drive, the other a sort of oval. The oval one you can see doesn't have a raised profile to hold a blade on, but I can't find anyone who sells this style.
I want a part which looks like the one on the right but with the hole like the one on the left. Does either the part or the hole have a special name?

Those all seem to be the round/cog style not the oval shape... I never realised before today strimmers weren't all the same!

Have you considered that not all strimmers are intended to take a blade, whats the make and model?

It's a DeWalt battery I've... You're right it's not heavy duty but blades aren't the only options. I was thinking to try a fixed line cutter for instance as I don't like the bump ones much.
It might just be they have a propriety fitting?

Bits are usually specific to the make and model, try the manufacturer for spares.

What diameter output shaft does it have, makita cordless has the type of fitting your after and is 12mm Dia
I'd have to measure but it was the same on both strimmers and 12mm sounds about right. Do you know what the part is called?
