Hi,
Having some issues with my pyronix alarm. It has been recently serviced with brand new batteries throughout. I’ve tried to ask the alarm company about this but they want another call out charge to attend and I cannot afford it, especially given the expensive service recently.

Problems:

1) sometimes my Wi-fi cuts out or I have to reset it eg if it’s not working properly. Whenever I do this, my alarm box will beep at me a couple of minutes later with a fault signal telling me it has no Wi-fi signal. If I ignore it, it will beep at me in the middle of the night.
2) the alarm company talked me thru in the phone ….went into the engineer mode and then entered Wi-fi user ID and password. Alert on the box turned off and it is a happy box again.
3) however ever since then my alarm keypad will chirp every single time I open my front door, even if the alarm is off and we are just going outside to get the milk!
4) when I set it, it no longer gives me an intermittent beep and then a chirp….instead it is one long continuous beep and then a chirp.
5) night time set…no longer works properly….I can wander about my hallway (where front door is) without the alarm doing anything. So it’s not working properly.

Help, please! It seems to have gone into some setting that is different than before.

I do have two Wi-fi systems (one the hub and one is a mesh system that boosts it). Would the alarm be behaving like this if I changed from one wi if system to another? That’s the only thing I can think of that might have changed.

Is there a C displayed on your keypad ?
This represents the chime function. Pressing C will toggle chime on & off.
The alarm has a comm fault delay timer ,when wifi drops out the display will show an alert after preset time. This time depends on what has been programmed.
Sounds like you have changed your input settings while being talked through how to sort wifi issue and your hallway device is now not programmed as it was.

As Manjo says press C to toggle chime.
If you log into the app can you see the hallway detector in the device list? Are all the devices wireless? Have u confirmed if any of the other pirs are working?

Hi, thanks for your help.

Issue 1) I have turned the chirp on and off multiple times using the letter C on the keypad. It makes no difference: it chirps every time I open my front door even if the 'c' is not displayed on the keypad.
Issue 2) when I login to the app, It does not give me the option to turn on or off the front door or hallway - they are listed under "full set"but every other PIR has a toggle button next to it where I can turn them on or off. The hallway and front door currently don't have this.

Help much appreciated.

To be fair it was working just fine before the Wi-fi cut out, it’s only misbehaved since they talked me thru on the phone how to make it connect to Wi-fi again.
What does the “omit option” mean pls? Can you talk me through in idiot’s terms how to fix this?

Has your installer access to the UDL function of your system ?
UDL means upload/download via cloud access.

Fault 1) I don’t believe comms fault delay triggers when wifi isn’t connected. I’m sure we’ve had threads on this in the past and numerous test panels showed no fault coming up?

Fault 2) Ommitable can’t be set in engineering mode. Do you have the engineering code?

Fault 3) Issue makes no sense. C on the Home Screen of the panel controls overall chimes. No C visible, no chime…

Fault 4) All things point to you or the installer having remotely changed the exit modes

Fault 5) Is there a PIR near where the doorway is? What used to happen on night set mode?

1) every time I lose Wi-fi, my alarm keypad starts beeping a couple of minutes later saying it’s lost signal. This is only in the last couple of months.
2) I don’t have engineering code.
3) I know the issue makes no sense. But there is definitely no “c” showing and the keypad chirps every time front door opens. Pyronix have told the alarm maintenance man that this is impossible. And yet this is what is happening. Is there a way of resetting the keypad box?
4) how do I check these?
5) there is a PiR at the end of the hallway, about five metres from the front door. What used to happen was an intermittent beep then a chirp when setting. Now it’s a continuous beep then chirp when setting and I can go into my hallway from a downstairs bedroom on night set, and nothing happens.

Lots of bizzare things happening here. Without the engineering code and also without the know how to programme this from scratch I think whilst it will cost you that you need to get an installer in to sort this.

I agree, you need to get your installer involved. Something has been changed. Zone inputs need to checked and WiFi also.
Would like to know the outcome.

Hi NicDigby,
Sorry to dredge up this old post - did you ever get to the bottom of this? Bizarrely ours has just done something very similar.
We had our WiFi updated, so I managed to update the controller to connect to the new network. But ever since, the chime operates regardless of whether or not "c" is displayed. We also have your point (4) - continuous beep instead of intermittent when we set it.
Good to know if you got to the bottom of this, before deciding if we need to call our installer.
Thanks!
