I would like to have a quality kitchen sink installed and don't mind paying but I have no idea what is a quality chicken sink and wonder if any plumber is prepared to make a suggestion.

Do you want ceramic, stainless steel or what? I installed a Blanco, 1+1/2 sink plus drainer I think is the terminology, and it's been fine.

Apologies, the guvnor hates stainless steel insisting on a white sink with drainer which I should have made clear.

Thanks for that and the Elba ELK 611 Ceramic White looks right. I know that I said I wanted quality but is £416.00 a reasonable amount to pay when nondescript sinks come in at £100.00.

Only you can decide what you think is reasonable. Quality items with better QC checks, superior finishes, and longer warranties will always cost more. Yes, you can always find something cheaper if you want, with less tight manufacturing tolerances and a lower quality finish. Franke sinks are manufactured to a tolerance of 1mm on specification and will definitely sit flat in the hole. I've seen cheap ones manufactured to a tolerance of +/- 10mm and wobble when placed in the hole.

You pays your money, you takes your choice. Always interesting on here to see how quickly people go from "I want quality and don't mind paying" to "I can get one cheaper than the one you've recommended"...

I just opened the link and the ELK611 was £556, so £416 looks like a bargain! My Blanco is stainless but they do ceramic as well, and AFAIK they're a good make. You need to shop around like anybody else.

I asked the question, “I would like to have a quality kitchen sink installed and don't mind paying but I have no idea what is a quality chicken sink and wonder if any plumber is prepared to make a suggestion.” The answers varied from, “Only you can decide what you think is reasonable.” To, “You need to shop around like anybody else.” To the reply, “Always interesting on here to see how quickly people go from "I want quality and don't mind paying" to "I can get one cheaper than the one you've recommended"

I used this forum because I thought that I might just get a straight answer, obviously not.

Because there's no straight answer to your question, but some of us did make suggestions.

We have a ceramic Blanco bowl+ drainer I fitted in a utillity room which served as a temporary kitchen while I did the new one. Its been used for just about everything inc scrubbing root crops, washing paint rollers and engine parts and still looks like new after a bit of a clean up.from memory it was less than £200.
I around 1990 in my last property I refitted a kitchen with a ss Franke tripple bowl sink which was superb, however, I fitted the same model sink in my present property in 2015 and thought the quality had gone down.

I've got a rather nice Cooke & Lewis anthracite resin sink- bowl and a half and drainer. Excellent for the price (found it at the local tip complete with tap :) ).
Seriously, it sits flat & looks well, bowl is a good size.

You asked a very broad question, so there wasn't that much hope of getting a specific answer, but I narrowed it down to a specific brand for you and gave you a link to good quality sinks which matched your requirements. I don't really see what the problem is?
