Old Honeywell to New Thermostat wiring...

It should be, but now you’re tinkering with what could be considered the combustion side, as it’s connected to the gas valve. You might only have a blown fuse on the pcb, have you checked this?

yep, i replaced the fuses too checked each one, only were 3 i could find and not blown.. but i replaced all 3 and still not starting up..

And the fuse inside the spur? Have you checked for voltage?

yep, i used a voltage pen and checked the L terminal on the pcb and it was live...

from downstairs, when i turned on the electric, all i heard was a pop. ... so i assumed it was the fuse...

Volt pens aren’t the most reliable. I once isolated a circuit, proved dead properly, used a volt pen and it lit up like it was live - I’d double check it, if I were you. £30 for a pcb - eBay by any chance?

sorry its not a volt pen. its a Preptec AC DC 12-250V Voltage Tester Detector. it detects the volage, 240v etc....

i just used a multimeter and it shows over 200v

I just bought the PCB. it looks like a straight forward replacement.

I really did the wiring correctly as posted yesterday. I tested it with my meter. 3 and 4 to new stats... every thing perfect as what we said...
the setup i did for the new thermostat supposes to have worked and didn't... i really think there were problems with the PCB neutral terminals and switch terminal 4...

Just found the manual online...
Looks like we got the wiring correct.

UPDATE!

I went back to my Dads to check the PCB fuses.... i used my multimeter and one was blown.. but didn't look like it... also, before, i changed all fuses with the spare fuses that were plugged onto the casing.... so i must have switch the blown fuse with spare blown fuse!

Some idiot 10 years ago connects live to neutral!!! see pic below! why!!!

I could smell something burnt in where the pcb is.. maybe because of the wiring, and fuse pop, it may have fried something that’s stopping the gas valve from working
This nightmare is getting worse. Now I do need a new PCB!

?
