I hope you like the slightly cryptic title.
I have a caravan and want to fit a PIR in the toilet area so when my wife goes to use it at night the light comes on. There are two LED strip lights with a total load of 7 watts so less than 1 amp at 12volts.
I know it is easy to use the switch but as my wife is disabled she tends to use both hands to hold onto things to stop her falling.
It would be easy to do with 230 volt gear but as we sometimes caravan in places without access to the mains supply I'd like to fit something that works off the 12 volt battery.
Does anyone have any idea how I can do this?

battery operated garden/path lamp with PIR. If you can find one that takes "D" size batts, an LED will take a long time to exhaust them.

I got one at Aldi but it has two spotlamps rather than a flat light.

You might also consider a pull-cord light switch which may be easier to operate.

I did a google for "12 volt pir sensor" and seems there are loads of them. We never use caravan sites without hook up now, so a PIR rechargeable torch works for us. Use them at home too to light stairs.

Yes you can get 12v dc PIR sensors, casing looks like a normal 230v one. Easy and cheap to get on aliexpress if you're not in a rush.
I've got one on a shed light and one on an ex-street light, it's all running off a 12v battery system that is charged entirely by solar.

I did google it while away in my caravan and got lost in the results (I like to use a pc rather then my phone) I will try again.

Plenty on e-bay. I have purchased one of the ones below, and it works fine. Switches a 12V 10W floodlight powered from a 12V lead-acid battery.

I must be getting old but I find the internet to be a strange place where mostly I find what I want with Google but sometimes it fails. After failures I've just ordered one of these from ebay, thanks Astra99
