Replacing soil pipe running horizontally above conservatory roof

Hi,

I have a leaking soil pipe that runs horizontally across and above a conservatory roof. The conservatory is a Edwardian one with a double polycarbonated roof.

I'm looking to get the pipe replaced but have asked a number of plumbers who have declined the job due to the issue of accessing it?

What can I do? I'm I asking the wrong trades person to do the job?

A photo would help us understand any access issues better. You might need to be prepared for a larger quote if scaffolding is required.

I'd have thought you could lay a number of builders' planks on the sloping roof, to spread the load and give a working platform. But if possible, worth checking with the conservatory supplier.
The pipe installation is a mess, and the low point exacerbates any leak problem. Re-doing it with the horizontal run hard up against the underside of the far vent fitting would just about give a fall the whole way.

Trouble is, if they damage the roof, planks or not, then they’re liable - that’s probably more the issue.

Whilst not the most desirable job ever, I think with a bit of thought, planks/ladders to spread the load would work, definately do-able.

It’s got a poly roof - just take out 3 of the roof panels and the plumber can work through the gaps with a ladder or even a one lift tower in the Connie.

Ask the people that replace polycarb with insulated panels . Then climb up through the hole - timing it around their installation. 2 birds with one stone (and a few £££) Nice warm room in winter

Looks like it's leaking on the bottom bend in the pic, should be possible (with care) just to replace that short section, (and clip it correctly to provide adequate support), which looks possible to do by just removing one roof panel.

It's not really a plumbing job, just general handyman work. That gives you a wider pool to dip into.
