I bought a display tap (no tap connectors) a few years back from Bathstore when they went bust.
I'm now looking to use the tap but the thread for the tap connectors appears to be smaller than the smallest tap connectors that I can find (8mm). I believe it requires 6mm tap connectors which as I said, I can't find anywhere.
There is a similar post on here from a few years back where someone apparently had the same problem but there was no real answer to his question.
An option I am looking at is to possibly drill out the holes and tap for 8mm but that's not really something I want to do.
Does anyone have any solutions?

Personally I’d cut your losses and get another tap. Certainly wouldn’t recommend drilling it out. Are you sure they’re not 8mm, eg have you tried this?

Yes, definitely not 8mm - I have some 8mm connectors and they are too big - also tried some more fromToolstation. It's a nice tap but unfortunately has no identification markings at all and isn't stocked by Bathstore anymore so I can't even ask the manufacturer. As I said, someone else has the same problem- perhaps with the same brand of tap!!

Perhaps just before giving up, maybe speak to someone like Victoria plum? They deal with non branded taps as well.

I'll give them a call but am not hopeful as I have searched the Web and not found any mention of 6mm connectors anywhere so I don't think they are generally made.

1. Given that the thread depth of an M6 thread is 0.54 mm, the maximum internal bore would be (6 - (2 x 0.54)) = 4.92 mm with a zero wall thickness. Assuming even a minimum wall thickness of 1 mm, the internal bore would be less than 3 mm. Hard t see how you'd get any decent amount of water through that, even at high pressure.
2. Sounds to me as if there is a possibility of error in measurement. Might be worth revisiting.
3. Also don't forget some taps have two mounting studs, and these are nearly always M6 thread.
4. It is likely that there will be no thread at the end surface of the water connection points, as the O rings generally seal into a smooth bore.
5. Photograph of the underside of the tap might help.

CBW, Oldbuffer - I feel a right berk!!!
After reading the last post I thought about finding an 8mm bolt to see if that would fit and - it did!
I then realised that the connectors I had at home were 12mm and 10mm respectively (and not 10mm and 8mm as I had thought) and that the one I tested at Screwfix had an internal bore of 8mm (so was actually a 10mm connector). Couple of days later, 2 x 8mm connectors from eBay arrived and problem solved.
Thanks for your help!
