Hi all,

Got a combi boiler in a new build flat.

Need to drain down the system, but cant find any drain off values which I can just attach a hose to and open up.

Instead there are two radiators with this kind of drain off value. See pic. Not sure how to drain the system with these..is it possible?

Is it a case of opening the square nut, let water **** out then quickly put a hose on it?

I did close down the rad value, but as started removing the square plug water started coming out with prettt decent force, so close up again. Is that normal and I just have to quickly get the hose onto it?

Seems a bit of a silly design surely?

Put a bucket or pot under it ,and undo the square a little to allow water out ,the pressure will drop after a bit. You can then remove it fully and put a hose on.

Thanks will do that. Worth changing it out to a normal drain off for future work?
