There you go.

A new rear tyre for my car. Tread was good but side walls were beginning to show minor crack, (advisory on MOT), so decided not to wait and had it done while I was at work.
One of my friends at work needed to get a new tyre for her Range Rover after a 'minor' blow out at the weekend so she drove to the tyre place where she then arranged to have a new one fitted. Because I had 'recommended' her they knocked £15 off my bill. Result! :D

I bought two tyres, a set of brake pads, engine oil and filter and fitted the lot on the daughter-in-laws car today. I was only going to charge her for the parts obviously but Mrs Mottie said no, she can’t afford it. Oh well, you know what they say - I’ve not lost a son, I’ve gained another car to maintain……

Finally bought (well, paid for) a shed for my new allotment plot. 7'X5' Apex. Not coming until Jan 10th though so I've got plenty of time to prepare a base.

10thof Jan??? You could build it yourself with one hand tied behind your back quicker!

Andy
CBA and gotta build the base yet. What's it going to cost in timber, nails, felt, glass, battens hinges etc? Probably £300-£400 going on the price of timber at the moment. Then there's my time in building it, getting it to the allotment and erecting it. Oh, and it’ll probably look s hit! I'm getting it supplied, delivered and erected for £605.

A bale of steel wool, I have been battling slug invasions for years, thought it was sorted after discovering water ingress under a door, took floor up dried out and filled below ground cavities with foam, but they are back, found one in dishwasher last night, so I have filled the void under the units with steel wool to see if it deters them
