Captain Nemesis

The fact is that there are some people here who really are what is commonly referred to as "anti-vaxxers".

Why they hold those beliefs I have no idea for the simple reason that their beliefs make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

And that simple reason is also the reason why they are never going to be stopped by pointing out the truth, and the evidence, and the facts, as they long ago cast themselves adrift from truth, evidence, and facts.

It is the reason why telling them that they need links for all claims will do no good as they will gleefully either sieze on something in a link which is equally disconnected from truth, evidence, and facts or they will wilfully misinterpret a headline and wilfully refuse to understand the detailed truth, evidence, and facts behind it.

Sadly they will continue to spread their malign propaganda until this site gets a grip and realises that there is no more validity to the idea of "both sides of the argument" than there is to that of there being two sides to the argument about whether the world is round or flat or whether the Nazis did or did not kill several million Jews.

As this post is opinion and doesn't have any links, we'll drop that requirement.

So what you have said there is that you have no idea why believing actual truth, actual evidence, and actual facts makes any sense.

Thank you for agreeing with the point I was making about people like you and how the site should deal with you.

I know that I was born, that one day I will die, & flat roofs leak. Everything else is subjective/objective.

I don't know why some folk insist that wearing a mask has any affect, how a lockdown will prevent me catching a virus or whether or my left or right testicle will swell if I take their vaccine.

I certainly don't know why you think I agree with you?

All I know is I'm not alone. Something is very wrong & I'm sorry to point this out to you, but you ain't the person to convince us that everything is fine.

Because of the evidence. You know - the stuff you dont believe in.

Of course you dont.

Wrong.

The trouble is that even when you are shown to be wrong, with irrefutable evidence, you keep on arguing. You'll say, "well what are facts anyway" or some such nonsense.

Because of the evidence.

https://www.pnas.org/content/118/4/e2014564118#sec-22

"Our review of the literature offers evidence in favor of widespread mask use as source control to reduce community transmission"

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2405-7

"The modern understanding of infectious disease, combined with a global publicized response, has meant that nationwide interventions could be implemented with widespread adherence and support. Given the observed infection fatality ratios and the epidemiology of COVID-19, major non-pharmaceutical interventions have had an effect in reducing transmission in all of the countries we have considered."

Something is very wrong

Like what? You come up with how you know things that us mere mortals don't. It's almost as if you are embarrassed to share them.

Didn't the Nazist shut down all Jewish media saying that it was nonsense based on rebellious opinions?
Didn't they present "evidence" that the Arian race was superior to any other?
And still, those fools didn't believe them...

I don't know, what evidence did you have in mind.

By the way, good going, only seven posts in and we're onto the nazis and the jews.

You mean, like people who claim the "virus" doesn't exist or isn't dangerous? Who claim that vaccines don't work, or are worse than the disease? Who claim that horse-worming tablets will prevent or cure infections?

Do you think at the time when the Normans were invading and taking control of British borders, the Brits of the time were too busy arguing about what happened with the Vikings, or the Romans, to notice? Probably

Anti vaccination well what about

Gunman on a motorcycle shot dead a police officer guarding polio vaccination workers

the attack came on the 3rd day of a five day vaccination drive across the country part of a national programme to eradicate the crippling disease

polio teams are often targeted by those claiming the vaccination is a plot to steralise children

Actually, they were very tired, and some of them still on the way back from defeating the Norwegian invasion, less than three weeks earlier, in Yorkshire.

BTW the word you were searching for is "English," not "Brits" or "British."

Well, that's why I said "of the time". Isn't the origins of British from before the Anglo Saxons? They called the previous inhabitants (mostly the same) British, and the land is the British Isles. Most of the original Britons fled to Wales, Cornwall and NW Scotland.

As a land, and a un/united people, we have always been British! Well, since the Romans named the land Britannia.
