Air admittance valve/durgo valve

Hi, I am looking for a bit of help re issue with air admittance valve. I moved into a new build house over 9 months ago, our downstairs toilet always has always had a foul sewage smell. The developers have said nothing is wrong. I have checked the Durgo valve and think this is the source of the smell.
Addition the developers are having cash flow issues and I am no longer able to contact them for this to be addressed.

I think the issues are:
-the valve easily removes
-the pipe has not been cut even and the internal rubber seal is uneven with the back portion having more rubber seal exposed (could the smell be coming from here(I have taken some pics)
- also should the value easy be removed? I have ready that possible solvent should be used to seal this? However I am
Uncertain if this is the correct value that solvent should be used.
-the valve is above sink level so I don’t think this is the issue.

any help would be much appreciated

Just fit a new one. You also need to make sure it can breath

For what they cost, replace it yourself if you think it's faulty. I'd also cut a thin slice off the top of the pipe to square it off a bit better, but thats my OCD kicking in.

That type are 'Push Fit' the fins make the seal, and even with the pipe badly cut, it should have sealed enough for that not to cause an issue. Check valve is closing as it should before condemning the whole thing.
