Replied to a thread, nothing remotely dubious about the reply, but a message appeared saying reply was waiting for moderator approval and is invisible to normal visitors. Is this something new ?

Never had that myself.

Maybe the mods could explain?

There are content-watching filters which trigger mod approval.

A product mentioned was one of those, as it's often associated with spam.

The post was approved, but it had to wait for a mod to see the alert it generated.
