With all the talk on the rising cost of gas and the percentages involved, I looked online and found this:
"It is estimated that it costs between 30p and 90p to take an 150 litre bath, depending on the efficiency of your boiler".
This was published around 2015 and I'm wondering if anyone can guess what the figures would be today.

No everyone's water is heated by gas, so likely the 90p was for an immersion. A rough calculation for a 3kw immersion, running for one hour is around £1.44 at my rates. An equivalent for gas here at the moment is around 1/4 of that. I am on a good fixed contract for both at the moment, but it comes to an end soon.

150 litre bath

I bet you 50p that you haven't got a bath that can hold 150 litres of water, with you in it. Nor that you fill it to the brim with water at 60C.
You would be poached.

The quote you use is nonsense.

For June 2021, my gas cost for 31 days was
Energy use 300.429 kWh at 3.06p £9.19

which is just under 30p a day

That covers all hot water (so more than a bathful) in a cylinder heated by a gas boiler

You're paying 48p per kWh for electricity? Are you sure?

I may be lucky, but my current tariff for electricity is
"Unit rate 17.13p per kWh"

my gas is
"Unit rate 3.06p per kWh"

We cook on gas and we both have a longish shower each every night plus the odd sink/basin of water for washing up and washing and our gas costs when we are not using the heating are not much at all. We have a conventional system with a 150L hot water cylinder (not a combi).
This is our daily cost for use in August - the amounts in excess of 50p are probably when Mrs Mottie has had a bath instead of a shower.

No I am presently paying 12p and 2p until my contract ends or they go bust :)

Yes, allowed for what others might by now be paying and I estimated it a bit high anyway.

These are my numbers collected last Sunday for the week, including the standing charges - E / G / W

19/09/21 / 90 £3.83 53 / 53 £8.33 / 1.754 £6.45 Total £18.61
