I posted last week with some self-reasoning that suggested I might be becoming a pacifist. I now wonder if I'm also becoming a socialist?
Whilst I can't claim to be 100% socialist (if indeed such a thing can be measured that way) I find myself thinking the industries our country requires to maintain social mobility (in the physical sense of the word) and that underpin our infrastructure should not be in private hands. So things like public transport, the healthcare system and our utilities.
Whilst I'd never wish any individual harm, I feel the monarchy is an outdated institution that needs wound down with all assets (land, palaces, grace & favour homes etc) used for public endeavours.
I support the idea of a genuinely fair wage for all. Whilst not anti-capitalist, I do think the wage divide between many CEOs and the workforce is no longer justifiable and don't necessarily subscribe to the 'it's what the market dictates' rhetoric, to me that's a useful line to trot out by those lucky enough to be in those positions.
So, with the usual jokes held back please, what am I?
