Hello,

First time using a forum for several years!

I have Ltech switches controlling LED strips in 2 rooms. I am not really in a position to change other rooms to concealed strips, they have downlights.

Can I control the downlights via the Ltech switches (there are other companies that 'make' these glass-fronted devices, but I suspect they all come from one central source), if I use the right bulbs and 'kit'.?

For reference here are the Ltech switches I have:

They control mains strip lights, not low voltage

The specifications of the switches is required, a picture of them doesn't provide any information.

Wall mounted touch panel CCT controller, suitable for controlling up to four zones of CCT adjustable lighting.

The touch panel requires mains voltage input. The output is an RF signal sent to 'F4-5A' zone receivers (available separately). Alternatively a DMX wired signal can be used with DMX zone receivers. Multiple zone receivers can be connected per zone, whether they are wireless or DMX. Input and output is via screw terminals on the back of the unit.

Features include an on/off button, the ability to save and recall a light level, a touch sensitive CCT adjustable slider, 'up' and 'down' brightness buttons and four zone selection buttons.

Compatible with standard UK and European wall switches. Back boxes must be at least 26mm deep, back box is not included. Metal back boxes shield the wireless signal so plastic boxes must be used when using the wireless output.

Specification
EX6 Touch Panel
Input Voltage 100~240V AC
Output signal RF 2.4GHz + DMX512
Control ability 4 Zone
RF distance 30m

Not to a layman, but, hey ho, thanks for the correction.

Can you help me?

I think this should read "The touch panel requires mains voltage supply" The inputs are from the fingers that operate the switch

Compatible with standard UK and European wall switches.

except that the majority of UK switches do not have a Neutral at the switch, they have Live and Switched Live.

Many people assume incorrectly that the Blue ( or Black ) wire at the switch is a Neutral. It is not Neutral but it is Switched Live.

Does that impact my desire to control mains downlighters with an EX6 switch?

Lets assume the the sockets that the EX6s that control strip lighting are fitted are wired the same as my normal switches which control LED downlights, for arguments sake.

You cannot assume that as the item you posted does NOT switch lamps/lights on or off.

It sends control signals to remote "intelligent" switches eith by RF ( wireless ) or DMX ( wired ).

Touch sensitive control panel. Same size as a standard UK wall switch. Compatible with standard 35mm deep plastic back boxes, back box is not included. Metal back boxes shield the wireless signal so are not suitable.

Easy to install, setup and operate. Adjust the brightness and colour temperature of up to 4 lighting zones individually or simultaneously by Radio Frequency and/or by DMX512 wired signal. Wireless or DMX control receivers are required (available to buy below). Multiple control receivers can be added to each lighting zone.

I know that my existing EX6s are connected to 'drivers' of some kind.

What I don't know is of the EX6s can control LED downlights, assuming the right drivers and bulbs are used.
