Hi All,

I've just moved into a new house and have a few issues with the heating system. I had a completely different system before so hopefully you can me fix this one.

It consists of:
Boiler: Ideal icos
Programmer: Drayton Tempus Seven
Hallway Thermostat: Drayton RTS1

Next to the hot water tank is a pump and two electric valves (one seems to be for radiators and one for hot water to the tank).

The boiler is constantly showing a "C" and is coming on and off regularly to keep the water hot even though the programmer has the hot water set to off.

The pump is also constantly running 24/7.

How can I find the cause of these issues?

Thanks in advance.

One of the two motorised valves will either be jammed open or have a stuck microswitch. Usual remedy is to change the head

Thanks.

The heating one seems to open and close fine so should I replace the hot water one or is there another way to find out which one is dodgy?.

Take the head off the other one to see if the spindle moves easily.
Quite likely that the microswitch is stuck closed in the actuator, this can be proved by seeing continuity on grey/orange wires (from that valve only, power safely isolated)

So it should be continuity when closed and not when open on them both?.
Which one do you think it likely is?

Thanks

Thanks again for everyone's help.

The heating valve was the issue and the microswitch was stuck on as everyone said. Took it apart and the microswitch was visibly broken so gonna get it sorted.
