I have a newly-fitted steel bath. I’ve noticed a yellow spot on the bath (photo attached). White vinegar and scrubbing won’t remove it.

Given it’s a brand new bath, I’m concerned about this, could it be a chip/rust or is there a way to remove the discolouration?

mxo, good evening.

Could be?? Rust??? or an imperfection in the applied top finish.

If it were me, I would be going back to the supplier or Contractor that installed it to request a replacement.

Is the dis coloured area raised in any way?

Ken.

Hi Ken, yes it is slightly raised. I purchased it and unfortunately didn’t notice this issue at the time it arrived and it’s now fitted, so not sure how practical it will be to replace it vs. repair?

Is a foot welded to the bath on the underside at that point?

You can if you want to go back to the supplier and say [something like] it has only happened when the bath was in use??

Just a consideration.

Ken.
