Bonkers but they seem to be hateful bunch who won’t listen to others views.

A complaint by one or more persons described as

"An Instagram account apparently linked to the campaign posted a "mission statement" calling for Professor Stock to be fired, alongside photos of the protest.

The statement claimed to be from "an anonymous, unaffiliated group of queer, trans and non-binary students who will not allow our community to be slandered and harmed by someone who's [sic] salary comes from our pockets"."

Not exactly representative of the student body or the university.

I'm pleased to see that the university says members are free to hold and express opinions.

Some TRAs are certainly aggressive. Perhaps it is just a minority. Who knows? Must be a reason for it.

Self loathing is my guess. People struggling with self identify do sometimes have animosity towards those who don’t.

At some university the students attempted to ban clapping / applauding

you had to glad hand instead

apparently applause can up set some students

Here's some of the shyte they teach at Durham University:

Faculty Handbook 2021-2022 : Module Description - Durham University
A degree in wasp chewing.
I'm sure there are some who are not interested in learning about social justice in Britain, and I'm sure they would like to deny that opportunity to others, on the basis that they think it's irrelevant.

And for those who are unfamiliar with University processes, the linked article is for one module, not a whole degree.
That course, successfully completed will award 10 credits. A BA will require something in the region of 300 credits. So anyone familiar would realise that the module is only a fraction of a degree.

Does that explain your attitude?
Do you have much experience dealing with people struggling with self-identity?
Or is your guess just a wild, uneducated, guess base on nothing but your prejudice?

never got any benefit from it
