Blup was correct.
It was weaners.
Sorry Mottie, I did ask you for the homophone, and the clue definitely referred to weaners, and not wieners.
A wiener is a type of frankfurter, which is where the hot-dog connection comes from.
And it is they (weaners = very young pigs, lambs etc) that could be made into hot-dogs. Although normally, of course, the meat going into hot-dogs is lower quality.

I don't know what Justin Passing was suggesting or whether he just erased his suggestion.
 
Well someone needs to set one. Strictly speaking it's Blup's go, but he's said he's quite happy for Mottie to have a go at setting one.
