Valeo or LUK are favourites of mine.....I don't think there are many duds around really so long as you buy from a UK motor factor.
John :)

Do you ever remember 'Fleetway' recon clutches John? They were absolute rubbish - the pressure plates were skimmed way too much and the fingers hardly moved when you tightened them down. They used to be used a lot by 'Mr Clutch'. Maybe it was just a London thing though?

As far as I recall, Mr. Clutch hardly made it up this far north......can you think of a worse task in the motor trade? :(
John :)

The schaeffler.com website for LUK clutch kits.

Just a suggestion! Research which clutch brand is supplied and installed at the Seat factories.

I noticed a clutch hauled from an Altea was a Sachs make - how typical this is I haven't a clue.

Women drivers! Are you allowed to say that these days?

I say this:
Most women drivers ride the clutch.
My wife doesn't and our clutch lasted 23 years, mainly in traffic.
Just had it done with a LUK kit and it's fantastic, better than new, pedal is as light as a feather.

Luk, valeo, Sachs, exedy, blueprint (the latter 2 are pretty much for Japanese cars only)

Avoid pretty much everything else.

You will find either Luk or Sachs were the OEM supply for that.

29k miles doesn't sound much for a clutch
I feel blessed!
Our clutch is currently on just under 160K. Mostly urban with a few jollies round the M60 and some darn sarf.

But I fear it may be not long till it goes to clutch heaven as the pedal has been making some odd noises recently.

If the eventual new one does the same again, I'd be well impressed.
Anybody know who makes clutches for Honda?

My old Mondeo is on 216000 miles on same clutch. Just as well as it would more than the car's worth just for the parts - dual-mass flywheel and all that. I thought it was on the way out a few years ago, got the smell, but that turned out to be a front brake piston sticking.
