Is it possible to trim 20cm off a double glazed glass roof panel. I'm fitting my own lean-to conservatory, which I bought nearly new, but I have to enclose a soil pipe in my roof so two of my roof panels are too long. Rather than spend more money on two shorter sections, I'm thinking I could possibly trim the glass myself. Does anyone know if this is possible? I've cut glass before, but never a double glazed unit.

Simple answer ....No you wouldn't be able to

more in depth answer .... firstly it will be toughened glass ( or it should be ! ) and you can't cut toughened glass .. it just ' scores ' , secondly IF you could , you need to seperate both panes of glass and then cut them , and at that point you'd no longer have a sealed unit and if you put it back together you'd end up with a sealed unit that would condensate inside ( that seven if you could get a good seal again )
