Had this tonight with my Sunday roast beef. The meal was up to my usual high standard but what gave it a little extra this week was that I made my own gravy with the juices from the beef, some stock cubes and the peelings from the vegetables. I strained it out first, of course! 
Yeah, a couple of oxo cubes. It’d be a pretty weak tasting juice with just beef juice, cornflour and vegetable flavoured water. Tasted bloody 'andsome.

One of the gravy companies did a really acceptable gravy, in a pouch once. I'm surprised it never caught on.

My earliest lack of drinking memories were either caused by Gold Label or rough cider. Wouldn't fancy either now.
I got really drunk once on Southern Comfort in my teens - I was sick and I poo'd myself and I’ve never touched the stuff since!

Only tried it once, sickly sweet. Years ago when we used to go out on a lads night out from work there was one who only ever drank SC and lemonade. It was always "8 pints of Hofmeister/Fosters/Kronic 1664 and er, ..................... a Southern Comfort and lemonade please." Suppose he didn't like the taste of alcohol.
