Opinions on this.

Thought an update on this may amuse/puzzle you all.
First implications by my local garage and insurance company were it will probably be a write-off. Insurance company have to wait for assessors report though.
Assessors think it is repairable but they need to order some parts. Don't know when the parts may be in as there are delivery problems, (excuses such as brexit, driver shortage, covid etc), and WHEN they get it on the ramps and BEGIN to strip it apart they MAY find other 'bits' are required!
They've had the car for 3 weeks and haven't even started to take it apart to see the extent of the damage so how they can say it's repairable is beyond me. The insurance company don't seem bothered, even when we told them that the garage told us some parts may not be available till MARCH! They have offered us a courtesy car but we have told them we need one with the same boot dimensions as we have to transport my wifes' mobility scooter and the ones they have offered are not big enough, (Citreon Berlingo MPV, Fiat Doblo and some other one that I can't recall at the moment). One thing I am sure of is, even if they did get us a suitable car, they would not let us have it until next March, it simply wouldn't be financially viable for them.
Going to give it 1 more week and if the situation doesn't improve drastically contact the insurance company complaints department. Go through their procedure before contacting the ombudsman.

Isn't there usually a clause where you can only have use of a courtesy car for 2-3 weeks?

Usually with insurance companies you take it to an insurance approved garage and obtain quote.

Being insurance approved they then submit their quote directly to the insurance company and then a decision is made.

They tend to only send assessors out when the car can't be driven, but even then these days they normally have the car collected and taken to a compound their assessor goes to.

I dont buy parts aren't available until march.

If that's the case I would be asking for a break down of parts required along with part numbers and then I get to sourcing them myself and when found Hand the details over.

It can't be acceptable to wait till march to have it repaired, plus the chances are that when it gets to march the leadtime could well be increased again.

That's very odd? The Citroen Berlingo IS the Peugeot Partner! They're identical apart from badging. We're a Peugeot parts hub at work, so if you want to, PM me if they ever trouble their backsides to strip it and see what's needed, and I'll see if we can get any of the parts.
