Hi All

I’ve just had a herringbone floor laid and I’ve noticed that there a lot of gaps up to 2mm wide and there’s a lot of high points, splinters.

the installer and supplier said this is an allowable tolerance and is like that due to it being a natural product.
they have said they could come back and fill all the joints m, remove the moving pieces and replace them then lightly sand it and reseal which I’m not sure this should be done being a new floor what’s your thoughts on this see pics this only a few

and there’s a lot of high points, splinters

The floor manufacturers will have an installation guide re gaps and spacing and this may be within spec. High points and splinters is definitely not good enough - get them back to finish it off properly.
