Noise from wind chargers can be a problem, also ice, if the wind is not blowing ice can form on blades, then latter when it blows it can be propelled some distance, over speed also a problem, so in the main solar is better, only time solar fails is when it snows.
I would think the Falklands has a tad more wind than Essex, and even with old solar panels in late 80's when I was there, solar would keep the electric fences working better than wind. It was normal to have 100 MPH wind there, which is why nearly no trees.
