How we treat our War Veterans is shameful

You see in your mind thats the only way you can justify this.

This has nothing to do with migrants. This is squarely on the MOD unless you are saying the MOD are short of cash?

MOD are short of cash due to vast sums of money being spent on migrants crossing the channel

plus having to pay the French for doing nowt ( no surprise tbh)

Tory cuck.
You cannot be serious!
Transam has told us many times that he has no interest in politics.
He's also proud of his panzer tank-driving Austrian relatives.
I believe him, I don't think he does have any interest in politics, it's more a case of longing for violence, chaos, mayhem, death and destruction of "unwanted sections" of society that drives transam, not politics. At least he promotes hatred and division in society at every given or taken opportunity.
He thrives on schadenfreude.

Considering how the veterans of Waterloo had to beg on the streets of London i'd say we've come a very long way in our understanding and treatment of battlefield wounds and mental disorders.
Of course, more can be done but there's always a few who cannot reintegrate into civvy street and slip under the radar. By and large this country treats its veterans with great care and empathy.

What a crock of sh*t!

About 28 minutes in...

Then look at this video...

Btw the lead singer and their family lost their son due to suicide at 24 after being abandoned by the military system and that 'understanding' and 'treatment' you talk of doesn't exist!

Cannon fodder, nothing more nothing less! (n)

Fair enough.
I guess that falls into the category of 'slipping through the cracks', but it is still true to say our treatment of soldiers is far better than it was even fifty years ago. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, a person cannot be reached or saved from themselves.

How is an ex-soldiers PTSD any different from a civilian with PTSD?

Should it be treated any differently?

That kind of argument could be applied to medical treatment or education, for the common man compared to the Royals, etc.

But an easy argument to make is their contribution to society. Except a soldier's contribution is totally dependent on the 'war' or the decisions associated with that war.
But in simplistic terms, how can you compare a soldier's contribution to a nurse's contribution?

...

Fortunately, an individual's right to treatment under the NHS has no dependence on how babbling idiots on a website value him.

There are schemes for Vets and they should be honoured. End of.

Thankfully, our NHS does not consider a persons past contribution to society when triaging.

What a scary world it would be if they did !

'Slipping through the cracks'?

Watch the whole video and then do some more research...

Once they have been used by the state they are abandoned as always, full stop!

No-one in their right mind should ever think about joining any one of the armed services!

Edit: Just to help you out.

"More than 60,000 armed forces veterans in the UK have broken the law, are homeless or are suffering mental health problems, a study has disclosed.

The scale of their struggle to adjust to civilian life brought accusations that ministers were failing men and women who had risked their lives for their country.

According to the analysis, some 50,000 are coping with mental health conditions, 10,000 are in prison, on parole or on probation and 6,000 have no permanent address."

The outcome is the same...

The difference is that a civilian isn't forced into a situation that is known to cause PTSD!
