Hi, folks. I'm looking at buying an inexpensive old stone house in Italy and want to ask the community here whether they think that the cost to repair or replace the carrying beams held up by the floor props will be cripplingly expensive. Essentially, are we talking £5k to do this or £50k?

Unfortunately, this task is well beyond my DIY capabilities.

Thanks in advance for your input.

New beams and floor and dodgy old stone walls. DIY maybe £10K materials but a lot of work, so nearer £50K than £5K if you pay someone to do it.

£5k may buy you one to one and half beams fitted.
That isn't taking into consideration existing foundations or logistics.
