Hi, and Happy New Year.
I have to get under the Victorian floorboards to lay insulation, but there are hardboard sheets on top with about 30 nails each. Is there a way to get these sheets off without destroying them that anyone can recommend?
Thanks

Hardboard is usually held down with tacks or staples.

A tack lifter is shaped to slide under the heads so you can lever them out.

Yep. That's what I normally get the labourers to do.

You might find that a gently used garden spade might help raise the sheets? You’d need to be careful and spread the lifting force evenly
I used ply on my bathroom floor before tiling. When it had to come up, my mate shovelled it up.
