Vivaro wont start

I'll keep it short and sweet! I own a 1.9 vauxhall vivaro 2006 it is refusing to start unless I use easy start, it will remain running if I keep the idle up if not it cuts out. I have tried absolutely everything the fault first started when the van just cut out whilst I was going down the road. Prior to that for around 48hrs it was being a pain to start after running out of fuel.

AA breakdown found these codes
P1635
P0191 - rail pressure sensor 1 signal improbable
*P0191 Is repeated twice

The mechanic that came out said I need a new fuel pump but I'm not convinced fuel is getting to to HP pump and from the pump to the union before it heads to injectors and when I cracked injector bolt fuel is also arriving there.

Any advice would be great don't want to get stung

did you use the priming bulb to get it running after it ran out of fuel?
is there a fuel smell ?

Sounds like injectors are leaking, did the AA not check the injector bypass leakage?

Don't make regular use of the ES, it will cause lots of engine wear..

Do, or get the garage to do a 'leak back' check. It compares the amount of leakage of each injector, one against the others and will show any with excessive leakage. It's a matter of four bits of pipe, leading into four jars from each injector, so the amounts can be compared.

It's the excess of fuel which the engine doesn't need, which returns to the fuel tank. If any injector is leaking excessively, it can cause problems starting and if bad enough can cause an engine not to tick-over, because there is simply not enough pressure available from the HP pump.

If you need to take it to a garage, better to find a local diesel specialist, rather than an ordinary garage - they will have a clue.

Okay appreciate that I'll get it to my local diesal garage down the road, they only deal with diesel. If any is leaking excessively what repair can I expect new injector

They should leak /need to leak, it it just the excess fuel, but they should not leak too much and all should be similar flow rates back to the tank. If too much is leaking, pressure at the injector falls, there is no proper atomisation, so it becomes difficult for the compression to ignite it at cranking speed.
