Screwfix Scam?

Just got a WA link from a family member.

Win a DeWalt cordless drill in a Father's Day promo with Screwfix.

"Won" the drill, but then have to send a link to 20 contacts.

Then you get forwarded to a gogodeals (?) website asking you for your details for a gift card to be sent to you. And it's a time - limited offer with a clock ticking down to zero ........

Anyone else got this ?

I got the heineken one. Web url was .ru so knew it was suss

B&Q, Heineken and Screwfix have all been used to target people with Father's Day-related scams Wiltshire Trading Standards has warned.

When I click on your link. it just takes me to to their website.

If you threaten to report them to the Advertising Standards Authority, they may be willing to find a middle ground. It will probably cost them about £300 to £400 to deal with the ASA enquiry. Fobbing you off will be cheaper, unless lots of other people lodge the same complaint.

It's not a deliberate link!
Just mentioning Screwfix in a post now automatically creates a link!

I just feel a right idiot!

I consider myself scam-savvy, but this one caught me out.

I shall be doubly vigilant now.

I got it. I knew it was a scam. Also one from B&Q for father's day

I got scammed once for Blue Saphires in Bangkok. I'd only been there 4 days. I felt sick and embarrassed. Soon found out a good few had been done

so I just got on with chatting the girls up and getting drunk.
