Artichoke And Other Foods Said To Aid Weight Loss

if your objective is to lose weight, high calorie eating is not the way to do it.

I'm sure I could do with loosing weight but more my aim is to eat as much healthy food as possible.

I love food so believe good healthy food is the best diet you can stick too.

Also look at the benefits of Chewing your food. More you chew the more saliva you produce the better your digestive system works.

I have always done that, maybe to an extreme. It has always annoyed people I eat with, how slow I am to eat my food, but I have never seen it as a race.

Don't drink with your meals either.

Why? I normally have something wet with a meal, at home a glass of wine, if out a pint.

Once took the missus to the West End for her 38th performance of Phantom.

Popped into one of them Sushi restaurants with all the dishes on a conveyor. Not having a clue about Sushi my first choice nearly exploded my head off . . . . Then this BIG triad type who was sat next to us proceeded to catch various dishes & pointed to us to eat.

He left before us & when I went to pay the (£100+) bill it was covered !

. Also eat less rice. There's a substitute for rice called Konjac rice, which is very, very good for you because it is basically pure soluble fibre.

Australia banned konjac

Glucomannan, which is konjac root fiber, is used as a thickening agent in certain foods. Although allowed in noodles in Australia, it was banned as a supplement in 1986 because of its potential to be a choking hazard and block the stomach. Mini-cup jelly containing konjac is also banned in Australia.12 Oct 2021

I've always eaten fairly quickly, dinner time I find boring, I just want to get going and off doing things! But eating slow is supposed to be much better isn't it? Gives the brain time to register being full and then (hopefully) stop eating.

I enjoy chewing my food as I enjoy food so much. But I'm a million miles an hour most of the time so I have to make a big effort and be very conscious when eating

I haven't read that but I think it's to do with Glucomannan as a concentrated additive, which is a stomach bulker. What I am advocating are foods that are naturally high in fibre - especially soluble fibre.

I'm going to give it a try as I do try to avoid rice. I generally have Bulgar weather and quinoa

Well, here I am! I survived the night.

810 calories was OK. But I'm not sure I can eat enough of my target amounts (eg protein, vitamins etc) on that low a count.

I don't know, but I too enjoy my food - it's a such shame to wolf it down, I like to eat slowly and enjoy it to the full. I tend to eat more, when there is more variety of items/tastes on the plate, so less chance of my palette becoming bored mid meal, but whatever I am always last to finish and always have been. I am a touch over weight, but not massively so. Most of my life I have struggled to hold onto enough weight, maybe due to being a picky eater, so a little over weight is welcome.
