Is there a staffing or pilot issue with flights in and out of London

A few weeks ago daughter flew into Heathrow and plane sat on the tarmac for over two hours

Last night she was to fly out of City around 7.00 pm, appears flight to Glasgow was cancelled at Heathrow, travellers supposedly rushed to City Airport and flight there was also cancelled. She could not book into a hotel (full) and had to go to Harrow to stay with a relative. I suppose airport desk staff were inundated with complaints.

System seems to be at a breaking point. Is anyone in charge?

Been reported on the news quite a lot recently, mainly staffing problems post Covid when many left the industry & re recruiting is subject to security clearance

We're (hopefully) flying in 12 days time to Jersey. Already had BA cancel our flights from Heathrow. Then Jet2 canceled our flight from Stansted. Trying this time with EasyJet from Luton. Third time lucky. We've got everything crossed!

Lots of things are now at breaking point. Much of it down to the 'B' word. Simon Calder is a reliable source.

Brother just had 8 nights away - supposed to be 10 nights, but Easyjet cancelled his return flight to Bristol so had to rearrange return flight and lose couple of nights.

Next month he was due to fly to Prague for 10 nights from Bristol. Easyjet cancelled his outwards flight, so now instead of straightforward flight Bristol > Prague, he has to drive to Manchester, stay the night with a friend, take flight next day Manchester > Munich, overnight in Munich then train Munich > Prague. Had to rearrange his original Prague > Bristol return flight because his car will now be in Manchester when he returns, so has to return Prague > Manchester. Then drive back to Bristol.

On top of that, it gets worse. He's really peeved to now be paying £2 per day for roaming on his mobile. Especially as he voted remain. It's mostly Brexit. If Brexit never happened, we could have turned on the EE worker tap as the pandemic eased to fill our vacancies. Now we don't have that option, we've got years of chaos until an adult gets a grip of the situation. Surprised the die hard Brexers can't see it!

So would you like to explain why lufthansa europes second biggest airline has cancelled thousands of flights and cannot see it getting back to normal till summer of 2023 or has germany no access to these thousands of workers you think would solve the uk problem .

I'm in good company as the CEO of Easyjet and others say the same the same about the causes of the chaos. Brexit is one of the main causes. As I said in my post -

Sounds like there's no staff shortage in Europe, if 8,000 Europeans are prepared to go through the aggro of trying for a job in The UK with Easyjet. Imagine if we didn't have Brexit stopping us from employing those 8,000 willing, hard working, dilligent EU nationals. Our problems would soon be over!

So they dont want to work for Lufthansa or the other european airlines that are cancelling flights due to staff shortages strange that i wonder why they would rather up sticks and come all the way to UK

Brexiteers are part of a yet another cult...

They believe what they want to believe despite the facts showing they they made the wrong choice...

But like all those before them they'll carry on believing because admitting they were wrong is not in the nature of a bunch of cults...

Brexiteers do what they say they are going to do unlike some remoaners - you know, when they lost the referendum some of them said they had packed their bags, ordered a container for their furniture bought their one way tickets to another EU country and then did **** all. Others said they wouldn’t be posting on here again and would be deleting their account but are still on here, posting. Some who weren't wanted in another EU country tried to save face by virtue signalling that they were going to house some Ukranian refugees and then went all quiet about it. Some did all of those things. Do you fit into any of those brackets by any chance?
