How does this work? I cannot see any explanation of it anywhere...

Do a search on 'Maria Yzabell Angel V. Palma air conditioning', plenty of hype, but no explanation at all that I was able to find.

There is a bit of explanation here https://www.jamesdysonaward.org/2019/project/airdisc-cooling-technologies-cooling-system/

It reads like a Google translation into English, but what it seems to be suggesting is that the air is compressed, which makes it give up it's heat, then the subsequent expansion of that air (having previously given up it's heat) will be several degrees cooler for feeding into the room.

Removing the heat from the compressed air with not be a quick or easy process, before allow it to decompress.

I'm not convinced that the calculation is correct there.

It uses the rooms starting and ending temperature as the two values for the heat repositories, but really you're transfering heat to a second location at an indeterminate temperature (the outside!). Also the average efficiency will change as the difference in temperature between the room and the external air gets larger.

But thermodynamics is one of those topics I normally run screaming from, so I may be wrong.
