Although born in India, he went to Rugby School and Cambridge university. He moved to Pakistan briefly, but then moved to the UK. He did loads of commercial writing (“Naughty but Nice slogan) before having a book published.
after the Satanic Verses issue he moved to the USA.

you don’t seem to understand freedom of speech? Nothing he wrote was illegal in any way in the UK. He spent more time in the UK than in India, Pakistan or the USA.

you seem happy with an attack on a British Citizen

I understand it perfectly i, also understand that there are limits to free speech.
I have read Arthur Butz's book, "did 6 million really die" which in exercising my right to freedom of speech is, in my opinion a very well researched and objective account of events which occurred during WW2.

AFAIK, Monty Python only insulted Christians, i watched the 'Life of Brian' which was, admittedly funny if not exactly Blasphemous to people from a Christian point of view
 
Some religious bloke at the time thought it was incredibly offensive.

I haven't found him guilty of anything.
I remember the reaction to his book Satanic Verses, the Liberal elites, loved it, poking Muslims because they deserve it only makes things worse.

After WW2 the British hanged Lord Haw Haw for treason, although, technically he wasn't British.
Then again who gives a **** about technicalities in a global war.

I didn't find 'Satanic Verses' particularly provocative. Didn't he do a follow up book called 'Budha is a big fat bastard'?

Cat Stevens was very vocal about calling for Rushdie to be murdered, he denies it now and last time I looked, any evidence on youtube had been eradicated.
