I just heard that on CFM news. He'd been ill for a long while now and his show always had a wide variety of music that was entertaining, interesting and informative. A kind voice, sadly missed.
Alexander Armstrong filled his shoes well though. So the show goes on.

I never heard him on the radio, I just thought he had retired and was taking up beekeeping?
One thing I can remember from his BBC breakfast was when he was interviewing some bloke that was up his own arse and had brought a book out. When asked why he had brought a book out, the knob said "Everyone has a book in them" to which Bill replied something like "I wondered why you were sitting at an odd angle”. The knob didn’t even acknowledge the joke but Bill found it funny. :mrgreen:
