uPVC door frame vertical add-ons letting moisture across to inner leaf.

Moisture is getting across the void to the inner leaf, and the emulsioned skim is moulding slightly adjacent the door frame so I need some sort of vertical make-up trim externally to cover the door frame/add-on join?

Is it better to recess the external render up the side of the door frame a little, and lose the outer edge of the new trim in there, and then a bead of sealant all round?

Or just fix the new external trim with a film of sealant behind it, and then a bead of all round?

What sealant?

Moisture won't be bridging the void, it would struggle to get through the actual pvc unless you have a hole!
What you are seeing is an issue with Moisture condensating on a cold surface

I put foam cavity closers in the reveal before the render/skim. Fixed the closers with a bit of expanding foam all the way up each side, but not an excessive amount.

It's the reveal skim that's showing spots of mould all the way up each side of the door.

A bedroom. Maybe I need to leave the window ajar. You easily lose a lb in weight overnight, some of that presumably by exhaling moisture laden breath?
