Anybody able to advise what type of brick this may be, and what the best new brick option is for matching it. Struggling to find reclaimed bricks of the same type. Late 1960s house in the Manchester area.

They look like your typical 'Pinhole' brick although the pinhole fellas I've seen are darker.

Back in the 60's a lot of the houses were going up with Flettons. You won't find many in the reclaim yards, as they don't clean up too well.
They look a bit like the old Heathers, or possibly Chilterns. Hard to be sure from a photo.

Thanks. LBC Chilterns are the best match that I've seen, but they are 65mm and these bricks are 72mm. Can get 73mm Heathers but they are darker.

Yep, Selco do a pinhole brick but they seem to be a darker shade with more black marking.

Back then they were 2 7/8, with a 3/8 joint making the gauge 4 to 13 inches. Some were 2 5/8 making it 4 to the ft.

They have the texture of pinhole and the colour of say an LBC Chiltern or Heather. Tough one. Probably try and source some 73mm Chilterns but they will be expensive.

73mm bricks are readily available.

Carlton heather sandfaced 73mm look similar, available from Beesley and Fildes, it will be hard to get an exact match as your bricks will be well weathered.
