Singles in trunking

I'm struggling to remember the regs. Is it permissible to run 6491X in trunking?
I am wanting to alter some controls on a heating system in a large building and need one more core to do this. It would be easier, and cheaper to add a single 6491X cable, but I can’t decide if it is OK in trunking. I know it would be fine in conduit.
If 6491X is not acceptable I’ll use 4242Y and have a spare wire.
The idea is to save a local charity money on their heating bills so I want the cheapest option.

Yes, it's ok in trunking - providing ALL of it is trunking.

You don't want the wires passing any rough edges - so best to use the correct type of box, etc.

If you cannot meet this criteria, it would be far better and simpler just to use 4242Y - given the limited info, my best answer at the moment would be just use 4242Y, as it's relatively twot-proof.

Thanks sparkwright, that was my feeling. Trunking does not have such nice smooth bends as conduit.

Singles (6491X/6491B) must be completely contained throughout. This can be conduit, trunking or a mixture of both.
