Grohe Rapid SL anyone fitted one ?

Im planning replacing the WC and want a wall hung pan, the best option seems to be using a Grohe Rapid SL mounting frame (0.82metres) which seems pretty much straight forward, but rather pricey.

Could anyone spare the time to answer a few questions please?

a. apart from the obvious what's the difference with the different mounting heights (pro's and con's etc.)

b. do they come with on the wall mounting bolts ?

c. what's the difference with flush down and flush through wc pans ?

d. are they worth the money?

I've just fitted one, but it's higher than yours, 1200mm.

To answer your questions:

1. It depends on how low or how high you feel comfortable sitting. All I did was measure an existing toilet and use that height.

2. Yes.

3. I have a flush through. The waste goes out almost horizontally to connect to the vertical soil stack. It depends where your soil stack/pipe is; directly in the floor, or, like mine, on an outside wall. I think most wall mount toilets are flush through.

4. Yes, they are worth it. The quality is superb, and they really hold the toilet secure. The instructions are not exactly easy to understand, but that's all I can complain about.

too late i already fitted mine a few weeks ago, but your right they are very good im very impressed with the flush plate and flushing action which is very quiet and quick to refil.

i had been concerned that maybe a .82 one might not of had much power flushing but its excellent.

I had to buy the wall brackets as extra, about 15 quid.

It was quite easy to fit but like you say the destructions werent very easy to follow not that there is much to do though.

I think the only niggle i had was the gland for the water supply on the side being a bit hard to tighten up but no big deal really.

Ive tilled over 18mm ply using BAL flexible adhesive which im not overly confident will last the course, what have you done to finish yours ?

I used tile backer board screwed into place, and used Miro tile adhesive to secure the tiles. I made sure tile edges lined up with edges of tile backer board so if I really need to, after scraping out some grout, I can remove the whole board with tiles in one go.
I used a Grohe metal flush plate, and although it was a lot more expensive, i think it adds to the 'quality' feel and general solidness of the whole construction.
